All the details on our first Wedding Fair

The select and bespoke fair on September 30th ,will be held in our Kendal Store featuring other local businesses run by local women such as; Meres Ghyll Bridal wear, Daniel Grey Hair Salon, Blackberry Cottage Bakery, Floristry by Carmen, Andrea Pickering Photography, Browns The Jewellers, The Two of Us Classical Music Duet and Queen Of Hearts vintage crockery.

Armstrong Ward owner Jacqueline Ward explains how it will stand out from other wedding fairs, “I have hand selected local businesses I would choose myself. I really want couples and their families to be able to come and experience an intimate and bespoke wedding fair where they can create their own dream wedding rather than give an off the shelf feel. We are having a fabulous fashion show, people will be able to get up close with it being very relaxed and personal offering customers the opportunity to talk in depth to anyone here on the day.”

We will also be promoting their new Wedding List Service. This personal concierge style service allows couples to choose items from in store or online at armstrongward.co.uk for their wedding list or they can simply pick one large item like a lovely new sofa that their friends and family can all contribute to.

Wedding Fair Tickets are £5 per person (available in store), with a glass of fizz and a goody bag of discount vouchers and indulgent samples included. All proceeds go to CancerCare. It’s all happening on Sunday 30th September between 11 – 3pm.

There will be a  Grand Prize Draw – worth over £1000 vouchers with lovely treats for your special day, including a Special Hens Fizz Afternoon Tea at Armstrong Ward for up to 20 guests, vouchers towards cakes, flowers, hair & bridal gowns.

Westmorland Gazette Awards

We are very excited to be a finalist for Retailer of the Year in the Westmorland Gazette Awards.

The Westmorland Gazette has launched its 2012 Business and Tourism Awards, one of the premier events in the North West business calendar.

Last year more than 120 companies from South Lakeland, Eden, Furness, North Lancashire and North Yorkshire entered the prestigious awards – all keen to be recognised for their entrepreneurial spirit and business acumen.

And this year promises to be an even bigger event as firms aim to step into the spotlight and show off exactly what makes them leaders in the local business community.

Winners will be announced at a glittering ceremony at The Castle Green on September 14th – please wish us luck x

About

I am really a country girl at heart, never happier than when I’m pottering around at home with our children Harry (5 years) and Matilda, (Tilly 20 months)   and secretly have an ambition to one day retire and spend my days making cakes and jam!

But until then family life is a juggling act  of fitting in running our shop Armstrong ward Lifestore, in the lovely Lake Disctrict market town of Kendal, with the day to day round of  children’s birthday parties, swimming lessons, playgroups and PTA meetings. Oh and I nearly forgot to mention the renovation of a 300 year old Westmorland  farmhouse.. which at the moment is more rustic than chic.  So life is hectic but fun!

So on our blog I thought I’d share with you a mixture of our favourite places, shops and resturants, fun family days out, and recipes that we love, along with a sprinkling of news & sneak previews of gorgeous new things for our shop Armstrong Ward Kendal.
